Sounds of the Human World

On 29 Aug, my family attended the final of the Campus Song Contest organised by FKS at Dewan San Choon, Wisma MCA.

There are two groups of finalists, one for secondary school and another one for varsity, each group consist of six finalists. The competition was very stiff and each finalist has shown their best during the performance. From the event, we saw the progress and evolution of Buddhist Songs to cater for the modern world. Event though most of the finalists chose the Mandarin Buddhist Songs, there was one finalists who chose the English Buddhist Song. It is really great.

Recently, with the emergence of many young buddhist groups who uses buddhist lyrics as a means to encourage more young people to develop their spiritual needs. This is really encouraging and should be promoted.

At the same time, the organiser also organised a fund raising event to collect to support the 88 Taiwan Flood Victim. There are performers from both Buddhist and non-Buddhists groups. It was a very successful event. May we pray for the relief and rendered our support to help those needy for speedier recovery.
